Kirby:
Dual Background in Journalism, Public Relations
David Kirby was an award-winning sportswriter and columnist for the Los Angeles Herald-Examiner before entering public relations as PR manager for McCulloch Corporation of Los Angeles and then corporate director of public relations for Black & Decker, Inc. of Baltimore.
Kirby is accredited (APR) by the Public Relations Society of America. The Maryland Chapter of PRSA has honored him with six Best in Maryland awards for PR campaigns and the Lifetime Achievement Award.
As a public relations counselor in Washington DC and Baltimore firms, Kirby has led campaigns for financial organizations including Legg Mason Inc., American Fidelity Insurance, the Mid-Atlantic Venture Association and others.
Kirby is active in business and public service organizations including Red Cross of Central Maryland, Junior Achievement, the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, Downtown Partnership of Baltimore and Emerge, Marylands Choice for People With Disabilities.
