Gerri Leder is founder and president of LederMark Communications, a 13-year-old marketing strategy and communications firm serving investment and financial advisory firms and the companies that distribute through financial advisors. LederMark’s marketing and practice management advice helps their clients differentiate their firms, streamline their value propositions and launch marketing campaigns in order to build assets under management.

Her industry background included senior marketing roles with Legg Mason and Alex. Brown (now part of Deutsche Bank). She served as managing director for the wealth management division of Legg Mason and earlier served as corporate vice president of marketing, where she had oversight of advertising, public relations, product launches and special events. In the late 1990s, she brought specialized services to the executives of public companies through Alex. Brown’s financial advisors during the technology boom. As LederMark’s CEO, Gerri was a marketing columnist for “On Wall Street” magazine from 2004-2010.

A graduate of the University of Richmond with a master’s degree in business from Loyola University Maryland, Gerri completed the Securities Industry Institute at the Wharton School, a three-year executive program for industry leaders. She has held Series 7, 63 and 24 securities licenses and has written articles, taught college business courses, and given speeches on a variety of marketing topics. She is past chair of the Richmond Council at the University of Richmond.
